Slide of a patient diagnosed with the myelodysplastic syndrome with excess blasts, type 2. In MDS-EB2 is defined as the occurence of myelodysplasia in combination with 5-19% blasts in peripheral blood. In this patient, the neutrophilic granulocytes display dysplastic properties with reduced granulation and an abnormal nuclear shape (pseudo-pelger huet).
