MDS - Slide 2
The myelodysplastic syndrome is usually characterized by dysplasia of neutrophilic granulocytes (e.g. degranulation, abnormal nuclei). In this case, there was dysplasia of the eosinophilic granulocytes; relatively small eosinophils with a predominantly monolobular nucleus were found. In addition, there was dysplasia in the megakaryopoiesis in the form of enlarged and degranulated thrombocytes.
