A heterozygous beta-thalssemia combined with a Hb-knossos. This combination results in a thalassemia intermedia for which the patients requires transfusion of 1-2 units of packed cells every 5 weeks. A striking feature of this slide is the large amount of teardrop cells and the remarkable presence of anisocytosis.
