Malaria - Slide 1
Slide of an infection with Malaria Falciparum with a parasite load of 40%. Parasites are often sparsely present, which is why usually a so-called "thick drop" is made to assess a much larger part of the blood. In this case, this was not really necessary. Most parasites are seen in the ring phase; inclusions in erythrocytes that look like signet rings.
