Although an infection with SARS-CoV-2 virus has no typical morphology in itself, it can take on very extreme forms. In this preparation of a patient with pulmonary covid that required prolonged hospitalisation, almost only activated lymphocytes can be seen. Morphologically, they partly resemble monocytes.
