PCL - Slide 2
This plasma cell leukemia exhibits two populations of relatively large plasma cells. The first population has a rather smooth border. A few of them show a fiery red discoloration at the edge of the cytoplasm.
The second population is smaller in size and has a much more erratic border. Contrary to what is often described, the nucleus of these plasma cells is not round. The leukocyte count was
38⋅109/L
, of which 88% were plasma cells.
