HemoForm - Slide 1
HemoForm is a silicone paste used during a fingerstick, especially in neonates. The fatty substance supports the formation of a proper drop of blood. If too much HemoForm is used, however, it can mix with the blood taken, causing erythrocytes and leukocytes to lose their shape. For correct morphological assessment, new material must be collected.
