AML - Slide 9
An acute myeloid leukemia with auer rods and very prominent, eosinophilic cytoplasmic inclusions (Pseudo Chediak-Higashi).
Due to the presence of multiple auric rods in some malignant cells, acute promyelocyte leukemia (APL, branchial bunching) may be considered. However, the PML-RARA fusion protein or the t(15;17) translocation were not present. However, an aberrant karyotype with trisomy 22, sinus inv(16) was found.
Morphologically, a monocytic origin is also not inconceivable, but flow cytometry showed no monocytic markers.
