A classic hypogranular acute promyelocyte leukemia. The aberrant promyelocytes almost completely lack the otherwise obvious granulation. The nuclei of the malignant cells have a bilobular or folded nucleus. This relatively rare form of APL is CD34+ and CD2+. The leukocyte count was relatively high for an APL with
