Bernard-Soulier - Slide 1
Bernard Soulier's syndrome (BSS) is a recessively inherited disorder in which platelets show reduced expression of the glycoprotein Ib-IX-V complex and therefore agglutinate less well. The disease is characterized by mild to severe bleeding tendency. Under the microscope, primarily large platelets are seen. Often, BSS is accompanied by thrombopenia.
