This slide shows an APL with atypical, almost lymphocytic-looking promyelocytes. The aberrant promyelocytes are relatively small and have a medium-sized round-shaped nucleus. The cytoplasm is almost fire-red in some of the malignant cells. DNA diagnostics showed the t(15;17) translocation.
