Macropolycyte
A macropolycyte is a greatly enlarged neutrophil with a hyper-segmented nucleus that results from the fact that the chromosomes in the cell are not present twice, but four times (tetraploid). This change can occur in abnormal myelopoiesis due to, for example, pernicious anemia, sepsis or chemotherapy.
